Privacy Policy

Yanka is a product of B-ne Innovations Limited, a company registered in Zambia ("Yanka", "we", "us"). Yanka lets businesses build an AI assistant that answers their customers on WhatsApp and on a website chat widget. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers both business users (the businesses that create Yanka accounts) and end customers(people who chat with a business's assistant).

1. Data we collect

From business users

  • Account details: name, email address, password (stored hashed), workspace name.
  • Business content you upload to train your assistant: documents, price lists, FAQs, web page content, and photos of menus or price lists.
  • WhatsApp connection data: your WhatsApp Business phone number, phone number ID, and the access token Meta issues when you connect your number.
  • Payment details you choose to display to customers (e.g. mobile money numbers) and, if you connect Lenco, your Lenco public key. We never hold a key that can move money out of your account.
  • Billing records: plan, credit balance, and top-up history.

From end customers

  • WhatsApp phone number and profile name, or anonymous widget sessions.
  • Messages exchanged with the business's assistant, including order and booking requests.
  • Payment confirmation screenshots a customer chooses to send.

2. How we use data

  • To run the service: generate assistant replies, record orders and bookings, hand conversations to a human when needed, and notify the business owner.
  • To let businesses see their own conversations, contacts, orders, and analytics.
  • To bill for the service and prevent abuse (rate limiting, fraud prevention).
  • To send service emails (verification, password reset, alerts).

We do notsell personal data, use customer conversations to advertise, or train general-purpose AI models on your data. Conversation content is used only to produce the reply within that business's assistant.

3. AI processing

Assistant replies are generated using large language models (currently Google Gemini). Message text and the business's own knowledge content are sent to the model provider to produce each reply, under that provider's API data-use terms. Assistants are instructed to answer only from the business's own information.

4. Service providers (sub-processors)

  • Meta Platforms — WhatsApp Business Platform message delivery.
  • Google — AI model (Gemini) for replies and document extraction.
  • Neon — database hosting.
  • Cloudflare R2 — file storage (knowledge documents, payment screenshots).
  • Upstash — caching and rate limiting.
  • Resend — transactional email.
  • Lenco — payment collection, when a business enables it.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep data while the workspace account is active. When a workspace is deleted, its agents, knowledge, conversations, contacts, orders, and files are deleted. Business users can delete individual knowledge sources and contacts at any time. You may request deletion of your data by emailing privacy@b-ne.net; we action verified requests within 30 days.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest with our hosting providers. Access tokens are never exposed to browsers, webhook calls are signature-verified, and access within a workspace is role-based. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users of a breach as required by law.

7. Your rights

Under the Zambia Data Protection Act, 2021 (and similar laws where applicable), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to certain processing. End customers can also simply message the business they interacted with, or contact us directly. Write to privacy@b-ne.net.

8. Children

Yanka is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced to business users by email or in the dashboard, and the date above will change.
